This refreshing take on the classic Lemon Drop cocktail adds juicy fresh strawberries for a blast of summer fruitiness. It's one of the perfect summer party drinks, offering a refreshing and tart delight that everyone will surely enjoy. So, we create this attractive beverage as follows:
You can accomplish that with the Strawberry Lemon Drop by muddling fresh strawberries, lemon Juice and simple syrup in a mixing glass, add Vodka shake with ice. Strain into a sugar rimmed martini glass and garnish with lemon twist or strawberry. A bright, thirst-quenching summertime cocktail.
Frozen Strawberries for Fresh Ones?
Swap in thawed and drained frozen strawberries for fresh to maintain the cocktail's consistency as well as its flavor.
What if I do not have a shaker?
If you don't happen to own a cocktail shaker, we can just place all ingredients in tightly-sealed container (could be a mason jar) ensuring its covered and then shake thoroughly.
How can I make this less sweet?
If you'd like this less sweet, reduce the amount of raw sugar syrup or make it with your go-to sugar substitute, along with more lemon.
Can this cocktail be made in advance?
Pro-tip: Make the lemon juice, simple syrup and/or muddled strawberries in (or crush on your own to taste) advance & stick in the fridge then just shake them up with some vodka+ice before serving.
Can I omit the sugar rim?
The sugar rim provides sweetness, but it can be omitted. You can add salt for a different flavor or just leave it as is (the minimalist way).
Strawberry Lemon Drop One of my favorite new cocktails, it is a light, fruity drink which has just the right amount of tart lemon and sweet strawberry. It obviously goes well for parties, but it's also great as an afternoon refresher. Play around with the variations to taste, and have fun enjoying this fruity alteration on a favorite classic.
Strawberry lemon drop recipe
Rub a lemon slice around a martini glass upside down to make one choice of rim sugary for some sweet taste to contrast with all the bitterness.
In the base of a shaker, gently crush strawberries to release their juices and aroma.
Pour vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a lot of ice into the shaker.
Cover with the lid and shake hard until all ingredients are fully combined and cold.
Strain the cocktail into the glass over fresh ice (no need to strain it). Leave out the ice and strawberry pulp.
To elevate the aromatic experience further, add a twist of lemon slowly over the glass.
